meteoric atmospheric entry

This wall sculpture is composed of three iron ore based Campo Del Cielo Meteorites that are historically discovered in 1576 by a Spanish expedition and were thought to have fallen to Earth 4,000 – 5,000 year ago. The backing of sculpture graphically represents the atmospheric disturbances caused by the meteorites as they were hurling towards the Earth at over 150,000 MPH, hand forged from 18 gauge copper and heat treated to bring out the naturally occurring brilliant colors.
