Prehistoric Aquatic Sculpture

This seascape made of steel supports six fossilized fish of three varieties, seemingly swimming among the prehistoric sea grass. They are attached via magnets so that individuals may create their own seascape at their heart’s content. The matrices of the fish fossils are hand carved in a manner that is unique to this artist. The base of the sculpture is formed by a myriad of quarter moon shaped pieces that are layered upon one another in a manner creating a swirling effect. The sea grass is hand-smithed and manipulated to create the effects of the ocean currents (air and floor movements cause sea grass to sway). A fossilized Italian crab sits upon the base and is also magnetically attached.  Measurements: 30 ½”H x 16”W x 16”D
